Sealy FOX8 Holiday Concerts Feature New Addition this Year | Arts & Culture
The Sealy FOX8 Holiday Concerts in Greensboro and Winston-Salem will feature an exciting new addition this year.
The 70’s pop-rock band Orleans, best known for their hits “Still the One” and “Dance with Me,” will perform at both concerts.
Those in attendance at the Greensboro concert, scheduled for Friday, will receive one free ticket to the U.S. Figure Skating Championships opening ceremonies at the Greensboro Coliseum in January.
The Winston-Salem concert, scheduled for Saturday at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, will also feature the Winston-Salem Piedmont Triad Symphony.
In addition, FOX8 will be recording “Holiday Greetings” from families who wish to participate. Greetings will be broadcast on FOX8 throughout the holidays.
Admission and parking to both concerts are free with canned food donations. Doors to both performances open at 6 p.m. and the concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.
The concerts are designed to be a fun, family event filled with holiday music. FOX8’s Neill McNeill and Julie Luck will both host each concert along with Bill Flynn.
Last year, the concert series collected 643,637 cans of food for The Salvation Army in eight Piedmont counties.
“The Salvation Army is able to put food on the table for thousands of hungry families right here in the Piedmont because of the Sealy FOX8 Holiday Concerts,” said Captain Tony Perez of The Salvation Army of High Point. “We will be able to ensure that thousands of families’ tables will not be empty through this wonderful concert series. Thank you Piedmont.”
“These concerts are magical nights for many Piedmont families,” said Karen Adams, President and General Manager of FOX8 WGHP. “Most importantly, the food donations go to those who are hungry right here in the Piedmont Triad.”
The concerts are sponsored this year by Old Dominion Freight Line and 99.5 WMAG.
